Lifestyle Stewardship
"Lifestyle Stewardship" is a process of :
- Reassessing our lifestyles,
- Reordering our priorities, and
- Reallocating our resources for the work of God.
We all reassess how we manage our money at certain times in our lives, such as when purchasing a home, buying a new car or sending a child to college. Lifestyle Stewardship calls us to prayerfully examine our finances in order to bring a gift to God in the same manner as we plan financially for ourselves.
King David declared, "I will not offer unto God that which costs me nothing." II Samuel 24:24
Lifestyle Stewardship describes over and above giving for a specific purpose and for a specific period of time. However, lifestyle stewardship involves more than just money. It is a spiritual endeavor to set our hearts on heavenly things and find ways to boldly and prayerfully let our giving touch our living.
The focus is not on equal gifts, but equal sacrifice. We should each best utilize our time, our talent and our treasure for God's glory.
