Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign?
A: It is a holistic approach to giving. It is a way of uniting as a congregation to use the spiritual and financial gifts God has given us, to do the work God is calling us to do.
Q: What does Within REACH mean?
A: Within REACH is the theme of our Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign. To be successful, we must believe God has placed our goals within our reach. This also ties into NEBC's mission statement: Reaching the world for the glory of God.
Q: Why are we launching a Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign?
A: Since our founding in Spring 2005, our numbers have grown rapidly from 100 to 500 people. Our current lease expires in 2010 and we are experiencing space constraints. Within REACH will help us raise funds over and above our operating budget to address our growing needs. But even more important, we believe this campaign will challenge our church members to be more involved, prayerful and trusting.
Q: What is the vision?
A: Our Vision is twofold: By 2010 we want to establish a permanent church home and plant our first church.
Q: Who is on the committee for locating and selecting a church property?
A: The committee is comprised of Pastor Rice, Rowland Burno,Edgar DeBoue, Jeff Jones, Elbert Hamilton and Tim Jones.
Q: Why can't we just stay where we are? Why are we doing this campaign now?
A: While we are grateful to God for this facility, as good stewards, we must plan and wisely prepare for the future. Right now we are paying about $10,000 a month to lease 11,500 square-feet. The rent continues to increase. Given our current growth pattern, we anticipate that we will require a 28,000 to 30,000 square-foot facility in 2010 to accommodate congregational and ministry needs and allow for additional growth. Our current lease ends in 2010, giving us three years to prepare for the next step.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: Although we do not have a firm cost estimate yet, our preliminary figure for the facility is about $4 to $5 million. The financial goal of the campaign is to raise 20 to 30 percent of that cost. As soon as a reliable estimate is determined we will inform the congregation.
Q: What's the purpose of this Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign?
Why not just ask for the money and be done?
A: We want to give every NEBC family an opportunity to participate in this campaign instead of just the faithful few. The campaign raises awareness of the church's needs. It also encourages members to take ownership and commit to assisting NEBC as we strive to reach our goals.
Q: To recap, what are the campaign's goals?
A: Establish a permanent church home and Plant our first seed church.
Q: Who is leading the campaign?
A: Christ is leading us! We also have a 30 member NEBC steering committee that includes the following:
- Bob Rice, Pastor
- Rowland Burno, Executive Director
- Lindell DeBoue, Campaign Manager
- Herb & Candice Wells, Assistant Campaign Managers
- Harry & Genita Anderson, Leadership Campaign Directors
- Thomas & Ramona Guillory, Administrative Directors
- James & Carletta Sanders, Communication Directors
- Jonathan & Ylicia Wakefield, Congregation Response Directors
- Alice Stewart, Major Event Director
- Elbert & Katherine Hamilton, Spiritual Awareness Directors

For additional guidance, we have partnered with Generis, an established stewardship campaign consulting firm. NEBC's Generis consultant is the Rev. Stephen Kirk. Generis was referred to us by Plano-based Fellowship Bible Church North, which is building a new church on Legacy Drive.
Q: Why use a consulting company?
A: Because they are experts in developing and conducting stewardship campaigns, consultants can help us avoid problems we might otherwise encounter. Such efficiency will save us time and make our campaign more fruitful.
Q: Is North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship aware of our campaign?
A: Yes, Pastor Bob has informed Pastor Leslie Smith of NDCBF of our plans. Our leadership is engaged in ongoing discussions with NDCBF, as it is also in the midst of a capital building campaign.
Q: What are the major campaign dates?
A: Please refer to the "Events Page."
Q: What kind of commitment will I be asked to make?
A: We are all invited to examine our lifestyles and give as we are able. And, of course…
